Um… okay…
Sometimes those closest to you are often far away physically. This is the case with my mate Anthony who turns 40 today. He lives up in Queensland Australia whilst I currently reside in South Australia. It’s not a long flight, but being a student and artist, the funds to visit whenever I wish aren’t always available and so we often go most of the year without catching up.
To say he’s one of the most awesome, friendly, genuine individuals you could ever meet is an real understatement. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t warmed to him within moments of first meeting and I know more than a few whose lives have been altered for the better as a result, mine included.
He pulled me out of a shitty horrid point in life, kicked me in the backside and set me on the right path, all whilst making it seem like it was my idea. He is also now the father of two gorgeous amazing girls, who couldn’t be more lucky as far as starts in life go. He will be (and is) a caring, listening, wise and non judgmental father throughout their years, one that will look proudly upon their achievements no matter how good, bad, big or small they may be, cos thats the kind of person he is.
Mate, I hope the next decade is everything the last one was and more. I look forward to some man-hugs soon.
